Gmail Attachments
Open files and inline images that customers send to a Gmail support inbox, and attach files of up to 24 MB to replies and forwards from a ticket.
Gmail attachments
Tickets from a connected Gmail inbox show the files customers send, and you can attach files to your own replies and forwards. This works for Gmail tickets only. Tickets created in ZyberDesk or synced from another helpdesk do not carry attachments.
Files you receive
Files that come with a customer's email are listed under that message with their name and size.
- Images and PDFs open in a new browser tab.
- Every other file type downloads. HTML and SVG files always download and are never displayed, because they can contain active content.
- Inline images that the sender placed in the body, such as a logo in a signature, show in the message itself. They are not repeated in the file list.
ZyberDesk saves a copy of each received file in your team's private storage a short time after the email arrives, so the ticket keeps the file even if the email is later removed from Gmail. For tickets that arrived before this was added, the copy is made the first time someone opens the file. Opening a file always checks that you belong to the team that owns the ticket.
If Gmail has to be reconnected, opening a file that has no saved copy yet shows a message asking you to reconnect the mailbox. Reconnect it in Integrations, then open the file again.
Attach files to a reply or forward
In the reply box, select the paperclip (Attach files). In the forward dialog, select Attach files. You can pick several files at once.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Files per message | 10 |
| Total size per message | 24 MB |
Each file uploads as soon as you add it, in parts of up to 3.5 MB, so large files work. A chip under the editor shows the name, size and progress of every file.
- Send and Forward stay disabled while a file is uploading or has failed.
- If a file fails, select Retry on its chip, or remove it with ×.
- Removing a file deletes its upload. Files you add but never send are deleted after 24 hours.
- If you send or forward and it fails, your files stay attached so you can try again.
Attachments are not available on private notes. After the message is sent, its files are saved with the ticket and appear under the sent message, where you and your teammates can open them.
If the total size is over 24 MB or you add more than 10 files, ZyberDesk shows the limit and does not upload the files.
